Accessing the Exam Bank

How to Access the ACS Exam Bank:

1.  Set up your WordPress account.*

All interested students must have satisfied the eligibility requirements stipulated HERE.  After the ACS Secretary has confirmed eligibility, students will receive an email from WordPress inviting them to create a personal account for accessing the Exam Bank.  Your default username will be the first letter of your first name, followed by your full last name, all in lowercase letters — follow the instructions listed in the email for setting up your own private password.

2.  Login to the ACS website as a subscriber.

Armed with your new WordPress account, login to the ACS Exam Bank by clicking HERE.  Note: the first time you set up your WordPress account, you will be taken to this page automatically.

3.  Access the Exam Bank files.

From the main WordPress homepage (this is called the “Dashboard”), find the navigation bar that is located on the left side of your screen, and which has entries listed vertically (the choice “Dashboard” should be at the top).  Click the link at the bottom which says “Secure Files.”  This will take you to the Exam Bank homepage.

4.  Find the class you’re looking for.

From here, you should see a box in the middle of the screen that contains folder icons with the names of assorted HLS classes.  Click on the class for which you need old exams or outlines.

5.  Find the appropriate exam or outline.

Once you’ve clicked a folder, you’re taken to a page where all exams and outlines for that class are stored.  The name of the file gives you an idea of what each file contains.  The basic structure is FACULTY NAME_CLASS_YEAR/SEMESTER_EXAM/OUTLINE_GRADE.  Note: if we have more than one exam/outline from the same year and with the same grade, subsequent exams/outlines are numbered sequentially (i.e. Smith_Prop_2010F_Exam_H_2).  Right click on the file you want and click Save As to download it to your computer.

6.  Rinse and repeat.

If you’re looking for other exams or outlines, click “Back to Parent” to go back to the Exam Bank homepage and start again at Step 4.
